Methodology · AI-Driven Reliability Framework
Autonomy is the last step, not the first.
Nobody turns on an autopilot in an aircraft without instruments or a control tower. We build the instruments, write the rules, and only then hand over control — one level at a time.
Five phases
From assessment to governed autonomy
- 01
Assess
Review of platform, security, observability, delivery and AI-readiness.
DeliverableWritten report, L0–L4 maturity score, 90-day roadmap
UnlocksA baseline
- 02
Instrument
OpenTelemetry, SLOs, error budgets and a service catalogue.
DeliverableDashboards and SLOs defined in Git
UnlocksL0 — Observe
- 03
Codify
Everything to IaC and GitOps; policies written as code.
DeliverablePlatform repositories, Kyverno / OPA policies
UnlocksL1–L2 — Advise, Propose
- 04
Delegate
Agents switched on level by level, starting with well-understood incidents.
DeliverableAgents at L1→L3 with guardrails
UnlocksL3 — Act within guardrails
- 05
Govern
Monthly review of agent decisions, drift and cost.
DeliverableAutonomy report, adjusted levels
UnlocksL4 — where it is earned
Maturity model
The five autonomy levels
| Level | Name | The agent | Your engineers |
|---|---|---|---|
| L0 | Observe | Summarises alerts and correlates signals | Does everything |
| L1 | Advise | Proposes a diagnosis and an action | Executes |
| L2 | Propose | Opens the pull request with the change | Approves and merges |
| L3 | Act within guardrails | Runs whitelisted actions and verifies them | Reviews afterwards |
| L4 | Autonomous | Remediates and closes known incidents | Audits by sampling |
Start with an assessment
The AI & Infrastructure Assessment is a fixed-scope, two-week review of your platform, observability, delivery pipeline and AI-readiness. You get a written report, a maturity score from L0 to L4, and a prioritised 90-day roadmap.
- Kubernetes & security posture
- Observability & SLO coverage
- CI/CD & IaC governance
- Where agents can safely act first
